Beth and Shaun were originally supposed to be married in 2020, but because of the pandemic, everything was put on hold, I marked the date by photographing their pre-wedding session at the King Arthur. They gave me a date for 2021 and we put hope on that being their day, and although there were huge developments and improvements, the number of people you could have at a wedding hadn’t really got to where they wanted. So Beth and Shaun had their church wedding with the plan to have a celebration a year later, so here we are…
Beth and her party had hair and makeup done in Tonna, then made their way down to the King Arthur for dressing.
After a while Shaun and his groomsmen, along with the tiniest best man appeared. During the year the pair had become parents.
They didn’t have a ceremony, once the guests arrived they started to celebrate, I took this opportunity to photograph the candid shots.
I photographed the groups while everyone was being entertained by an amazing saxophonist.
I photographed the large group shot from the roof just before we went in for food and speeches.
The decor was absolutely gorgeous, a lovely selection of pinks and purples adorning the staircase, top table and centrepieces. Their cake from Centre Stage Cakes was amazing and featured a gondola, as thats where Shaun proposed.
The speeches were lovely, I love hearing the funny little stories about my couples during the speeches.
As always I always opt for the evening light for portraits, I’m not having to contend with full force mid day sun this way and its always more flattering.
The King Arthur always put the cake on the dancefloor for the photo, so we photographed the cutting and then on to the first dance.
After some mingling and when the sun went down we ventured out to capture portraits with the King Arthurs pretty weeping willow and festoon lighting.
Then back in for the party!
