In September 2021, I photographed the wedding of Aimee and Rhys. They were supposed to get married in Septmber 2020 but as with most of my 2020 weddings, the day was postponed to a year later.
The day started with Aimee and her maids getting ready at the lodge at Sylen lakes.
I started by photographing the lovely dress and details.
Then when I knew that most of the makeup and hair had been done I moved onto candids of the wedding party prep.
After dressing I grabbed a couple of shots of Aimee and her girls together, the last as a miss.
We then made our way to the venue for the ceremony, I always try and leave before the main party to photograph them arriving, and this time of a golf buggy.
Rhys was excited and nervous waiting for Aimee at the end of the aisle, surrounded by lots of happy smiling faces.
After her bridesmaids, Aimee was led down the aisle by her Dad.
After the ceremony everyone took some time to celebrate and congratulate the bride and groom.
After a while I started my group list, I always ask my couples for a list so I’m aware of how much time I should be assigning to this part of the day, so I can stick to the plan and I know names if I need to find people.
Before people were let into the reception room I popped in to photograph the decor. I think its important to capture as much of the day as possible including the decor.
Later in the day after food and speeches we venutured out for some portraits down at the lake.
And some smoke bomb photos.
Of course there were speeches, cake cutting and first dance, but I have to limit my photos and there were so many good ones at this wedding if I don’t limit them, then I’m in big trouble.
Thank you for everything
“Kate, Thank you for everything you’ve done from the start when we met in the buck over a drink in a relaxed environment, and you showed us all of your albums. For the support throughout the years with the moving of the wedding date, the pre wedding shoot which gave us a teaser of your work down to the wedding day, nothing was too much to ask of you. You captured our day perfectly and we are forever grateful. Your work is truly outstanding! When we received our personalised box with the unique colour ribbon to match our theme we thought it was outstanding. We will continue to use you in the future for any other events in our life and you are more than a photographer you are a friend. love Mr & Mrs Jones”
