In April 2022, I photographed Ria and Dan’s wedding at Parkway Hotel & Spa.
Ria got ready with her bridesmaids in a two room suite at Parkway, which was perfect as the getting ready (messy) part could be done in one room whilst I used the bedroom to hang the dress and other items.
When she was ready, I photographed a few portraits and it was time for her grandma and brother to see her for the first time as a bride. This part was very emotional as she had recently lost her mum, its times like these where photographing becomes hard, and the tears happen for me – but I keep shooting those special memories.
When Ria walked down the aisle, Dan was a little emotional – but I love that, it shows how much he feels for her. Plus she looked absolutely beautiful of course he would!
You could see how happy they were walking out of the ceremony, and well and truly ready to enjoy their day.
They mingled amongst friends and family for a while and then I started photographing groups.
The decor was beautiful, utilising fresh flowers and foliage on interesting hoops for the guest tables and a gorgeous fresh display for the top table. The cake was a three tiered creation, placed in front of a mirror (I know, challenge for me!).
The speeches were beautiful, they’re always heartfelt but definitely so on this occasion.
We popped out for some portraits after food, before the sun disappeared from the sky.
They had lots of fun on the dancefloor with their friends.
