Choosing the right wedding photographer for you is such a difficult decision. Its not just about absolutely amazing photos and catching those special moments, theres so much more. Your experience with them on the day, how they were with your family and guests, how they made you feel, taking your requests into consideration and understand what your expectations are.
To me its much more than a job, I put my heart and soul into my work.
My Style
So firstly the obvious, you love my style, the look of the images – that bright and happy feeling. To me weddings are happy days filled with light and I edit my photos to reflect that, you’ll also receive your full set in B&W so that you can pick and choose what you want to use or print. I absolutely love a classic black and white photo in certain places such as montage frames for the wall.
My style of photographing weddings is to mix opportunity for reportage (the classic candid’s that people aren’t even aware are being taken), the important family groups and loosely posed portrait shots. By mixing my shooting style I find I get the right selection of natural and sentimental photos, capturing those little ‘aw’ moments.
My Experience
You want a wedding photographer with a lot of experience, I have been photographing weddings for nearly nine years. I’ve photographed in wind, rain and shine, and had beautiful results. I’ve picked up lots of hints and tips over the years, and have created a resource for my couples with this in mind.
When photographing the portraits I use a variety of different methods depending on the couple to achieve beautiful natural results, whether thats classic posed, loosely posed or unposed prompts/games.
I love detail and a good close up shot, you’ve taken time to choose those perfect earrings to suit your dress, your florist’s planned and handmade that gorgeous bouquet – lets show it off! In your library the details add the beautiful little accents to your photos, giving it colour and shape.
Getting to know you
I love getting to know my couples before the big day, this helps me understand what’s important to you and to look for certain key moments, like the little hug with gran, the flowergirl handing the lucky horseshoe. Before the big day I ensure I get all the information I need via a questionnaire, times, addresses, your plans and any photos you’d absolutely love. For me organisation is key.
Helping your day go smoothly
On the big day I’ve also helped in so many other ways to ensure the day goes smoothly, I’ve dressed many brides, I’ve sewn buttons back onto dresses if they’ve popped, I’ve put brides shoes on, cleaned shoes after mud, held bouquets, got a seat for grandma, encouraged little ones to help me photograph a group if they feel left out. A happy and less stressed wedding party has more fun!
On many occasions I have been told how much of a calming influence I am, and believe me I want that for you on the biggest day of your life so far. I won’t boss you about or shout at guests, thats not my vibe at all. The photos are incredibly important but so is the enjoyment of your day.
Peace of mind
As a person I’m highly professional, I may make silly noises for the little ones and pup’s to look at me, but in the background I’m planning my times, opportunities, the weather, the reception details and many different things to ensure its a success. I have full liability and indemnity insurance to ensure we’re all covered. Your wedding gallery is all backed up to multiple places to ensure they’re safe and to give you peace of mind.
My love for my job
I’m in my element when I’m photographing beautiful days, it makes me so happy to see you being celebrated by your family and friends. Believe me when I say I cherish those moments as well and very regularly shed a happy tear behind that camera of mine.
I’ve been the bride
At the end of the day I’ve been a bride and know how important your day is to you, and how much planning has gone into it and how much you’ll cherish those memories. I want to ensure you get exactly what you want and deserve, on the day I’m your biggest cheerleader and will probably lose a happy tear during your vow’s, laugh during your speeches and join in on the dancefloor.
