In March 2022 I photographed the gorgeous wedding of Rachel and Jonathan in Canada Lakes near Cardiff.
Rachel got ready in the lodge opposite the venue with her girls.

I started as I always do by photographing the details, let everyone get used to seeing my face and knowing I’m there without having a camera in their face straight away.

I took the dress outside to photograph as we were lucky to have a gorgeous morning. On this occasion it was easy to photograph the dress as everyone in the room had seen it and it was photographed so early, before anyone who hadn’t.
After photographing the details and prep, I photographed portraits of the bride and bridesmaids.

It was then time to go to the main lodge for the ceremony.

Jonathan was a little bit nervous but thats natural, he couldn’t wait to see Rachel.

Rachel arrived arm in arm with her dad, she looked absolutely beautiful in her Stella York Bridal gown.

During the ceremony Rachel and Jonathan opted to sit down as the heat and the moment was a little overwhelming, this can happen but its no problem, we capture the moment however it is.

They stood up for that first kiss shot, so they had that as a memory – and what a gorgeous memory with their family and friends beyond cheering for them.

After getting everyone downstairs onto the grass for a confetti shot, the couple made their way down the twirly stairs.
I then photographed a candids for a while and let the couple celebrate being starting the group shots.

Main group shots were photographed on the paths to the side of the lodge, I did this because Rachel was wearing stilleto heals and the grass was quite spongy, this can be a challenge walking and standing on – my guess was that it was like this because of the weather earlier in the week being wet.

After the groups I popped in to photograph the decor, they had chosen a mixture of fresh flowers with lanterns and tall cherry blossom type trees from Panache Bridal on their tables. Gorgeous, bright and modern.

Their cake was a stunning four tiered creation by Centre Stage Cakes, which had a gorgeous little sentiment on the furthest side, a note created in icing with Johnny’s nan’s writing. All the children were left money to buy their wedding cakes.
They decided not to have any speeches which gave them more time for mingling and hugs.

After food we went out for portraits, it was perfect timing and the light was much kinder. We of course had to stick to hard ground.

In the night there was dancing, lots of dancing!
