At the end of May, I had the honor of photographing one of my best friends weddings. We’ve been friends since we were sixteen years old, and when she told me about the big day I said ‘well obviously I’m photographing it! it’s my gift to you’.
So, during the build up to the big day I spent hours watching her try on gorgeous dresses, designed various things, gave lots of friend advice etc and the happy couple treated me to a truly epic beach BBQ! The big day approached much quicker than I could believe!
Abbe and Chris decided to have their ceremony at Craig y Nos Castle as they had their first date there – walking the dogs through the country park. Their reception was at the Pen-y-Cae Inn as they wanted a small and intimate day.
As Abbe is a very creative person, she made all of the floral centrepieces herself, her bouquet, the buttonholes, paper flowers for the car, chocolates, seeds and also the cake (which was a team effort between her and her hubby).
Her dress was bought from Pritchard and Moore in Cardiff, a pre-loved Stephanie Allin gown that had never been worn before. Pritchard & Moore supports world-class cancer research right here in Wales and it was important to Abbe to do this.
I nearly always shed a little tear during the vows when I photograph my bride and grooms – but with Abbe and Chris it had a speacial meaning, I was so proud of her and the beautiful woman she has become, stood there with the love of her life.
